Cover Reveal (45): Seeking Her by Cora Carmack

I am so excited for Hunt's novella!!!! I can't wait to get inside his head. Check out the cover below!

A few months after being honorably discharged from the military, Jackson Hunt is still struggling to adjust back to the real world. He needs to get a job and find a sense of normalcy if he’s going to keep his own demons at bay. The job that falls into his lap, though, is anything but normal.

Bodyguard (and baby-sitter) to spoiled-rich-girl Kelsey Summers isn’t exactly what he’d been looking for, but it’s a chance to travel, to get away from the home that has felt stifling ever since his return. It would be a pretty sweet gig if it weren’t for the fact that Kelsey’s father doesn’t want Kelsey to know she’s being followed. Hunt feels guilty (and a little bit creepy) as he watches her from afar. She’s vibrant and infuriating, exciting and reckless, mysterious and familiar. When he sees her falling into the same patterns that he suffered years ago, he decides it’s time to stop watching and help her instead. But getting to know her is more difficult than he thought, especially because the more he knows her,the more he wants her.

Review: Through the Zombie Glass by Gena Showalter

Inspired by the childhood classic Alice in Wonderland, this harrowing and romantic story features teen zombie slayer Alice Bell who has lost so much—family, friends, her home. After a strange new zombie attack, Alice fears she may be losing her mind as well. A terrible darkness blooms inside her, urging her to do wicked things. The whispers of the dead assault her ears and mirrors seem to come frighteningly to life. She’s never needed her team of zombie slayers more—including her boyfriend, Cole—than she does now. But as Cole strangely withdraws and the zombies gain new strength, Ali knows one false step may doom them all.

I literally just finished Through the Zombie Glass and I was blown away. As amazing as the first one was, and you can see my raving review here, the second installment was even better.

Ali is just kick ass as before! When things went badly for her, she didn’t just lie down and take it. She pushed back and fought with everything she had. As tough as she is on the outside, she is pretty vulnerable on this inside and doesn’t like anyone to see her softer side. I

Coleeee, my dark and brooding Cole. He is so dang sexy but sweet at the same time. Well, he’s sweet some of the time. At first, I wanted to kick him straight in the man parts at the beginning, but then I realized his thought process for doing everything that he did. He was just protecting himself. I loveeee when bad boys turn into sappy sweethearts. It’s pretty much my kryptonite. Gena, can I pwettyyyy please have my own Cole?

The secondary characters in this series are some of the best I’ve ever come across. I am so invested in their stories. Kat is one of my favorite best friends in books. She is so loyal and funny and her relationship with Frosty is so amusing. I also loved seeing more of Reeve in this book. She is not as weak as her father thinks she is and I think she is perfect for Bronx. Nana is also so dang hilarious. Her limited knowledge of short-hand texting makes me giggle.

Since I read this book in about 4 hours, it’s safe to say that it is unputdownable. The plot is great and fast-paced. The writing is solid and amazing. The romance is steamyyy and smexy. Ever since they had the first initial vision in Alice in Zombieland, they have intense chemistry. But it’s not just that. They also have a connection that makes both of them strip their armor around each other. They are an adorable couple.

I am so happy that this book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger. It ends perfectly. But I am still so excited for book 3, The Queen of Zombie Hearts. It’s sure to be an epic conclusion.

Favorite Swoon-worthy Quote: He meshed his lips onto mine, feeding me a bone-melting kiss I’d never forget. I responded immediately, wrapping myself around him, drawing him closer, drinking him in. Backing me up, he pinned me against the wall and caged me in. His body enveloped me, pressing, rubbing, seeking,. All the while his hands roamed, stopping to knead here and there and oh…glory.

Torn between two amazing guys Jenna’s certain of only one thing, this is the most important decision of her life. One almost destroyed her. The other brought her back to life. The time has come to choose. Can Jenna move forward with Tyler or will she be stuck in the past with Reece?

This book was received from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I was extremely excited for this book because I needed to know who Jenna picksss!  Waves of Love was an emotional rollercoaster but the ending was just perfect!

I still love Jenna’s spunk and personality. She’s been a fighter since book 1 and she is so snarky even in the face of lots of adversity. Her heart is torn between the two most important people in her life. On one hand, she is so lucky to have two guys that love her unconditionally but she is also so unlucky because she has to choose between two amazing guys! I wouldn’t want to be in her shoes. She goes through some really difficult things in such a short amount of time and I’m proud of the person she becomes!

Hmmmm what guy to start with? I’ve always had a thing for Tyler. He is so sweet even though his home life is so crappy. He treats Jenna extremely well and ughhh I love him! The greatest thing about Tyler is his selflessness. Reese is also great too, but there’s something about him that I didn’t like as much as Tyler. Don’t get me wrong, he’s super sweet also. Though I really did miss him in Breaking Waves.

I love the whole mystery aspect of this series. It is engaging and always keeps me on my feet. The love triangle finally gets a resolution! I won’t say if I was Team Tyler or Team Reese but I was happy with the ending. I knew what needed to happen and it did. But don’t worry, both teams are satisfied by the end! It’s most definitely worth the wait.

An epic ending to a great series, I was really happy with the whole series. I can’t wait to see what else Danielle has up her sleeves!

Favorite Swoon-worthy Quote: Tyler’s mouth met mine. His lips soft and warm. I felt an ache throughout my body. I wanted him to hold me closer, tighter. I pressed myself against him, willing him to touch me, to touch all of me. He wrapped my hair around his hand and tugged gently, pulling my head back, just enough that I couldn’t meet his lips. He teased me, bringing his mouth a centimeter away from mine, but not allowing our lips to touch.

About the Author:

Danielle Sibarium grew up as an only child of divorced parents in Brooklyn, New York. Her imagination was developed at an early age. Surrounded by stuffed animals and imaginary friends, she transported herself into a fantasy world full of magic and wonder. Books were the gateway between her play world and reality. On any given summer afternoon she became Snow White sweeping and cooking for the dwarfs, or Cinderella waiting for the prince.

Danielle always loved dialogue and in elementary school began writing plays and short stories. This is when she began to understand she could not only bring her fantastical world to life for herself, but she could enchant others as well. And so she wrote. She wrote and wrote and wrote.

Sadly the first piece she ever sent out for publication of any sort was a letter to the editor of The Home News Tribune. It was a piece thanking the first responders for their bravery and selflessness on Sept 11th. It was chosen as letter of the week.

In 2007 Danielle collaborated with Charlotte Doreen Small to write songs for her CD More. Danielle wrote the lyrics for Take My Hand, and Goodbye, while Charlotte contributed the melody.
In October 2011 Danielle’s debut novel For Always was released. She Has since released Heart Waves and the second book in the Heart Waves series, Breaking Waves.
Danielle graduated from Farleigh Dickinson University with honors, and currently lives in New Jersey with her husband and three children.

Review: One & Only by Viv Daniels

One night they can't forget...

Tess McMann lives her life according to the secrets she's sworn to keep: the father who won't acknowledge her, the sister who doesn't know she exists, and the mother who's content playing mistress to a prominent businessman. When she meets the distractingly cute Dylan Kingsley at a prestigious summer program and falls in love, Tess allows herself to imagine a life beyond these secrets. But when summer ends, so does their relationship -- Dylan heads off to Canton College while Tess enrolls at the state university.

One love they can't ignore...

Two years later, a scholarship brings Tess to Canton and back into Dylan's life. Their attraction is as strong as ever, but Dylan has a girlfriend…who also happens to be Tess's legitimate half-sister. Tess refuses to follow in her mother's footsteps, which leaves her only one choice: break the rules she’s always followed, or allow Dylan to slip away for a second time.

...And only one chance to get things right.
This book was received from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I loved For Darkness Shows the Stars and when I found out that Diana Peterfreund was writing a NA book under a different name, Viv Daniels, I knew I had to have it! And let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint.

Tess was a strong heroine. She knew what her mother had gone through with her father and she couldn’t let that happen to her, despite being in love with Dylan. She was so ambitious and hardworking. When she knew what she wanted, she went for it. She was a nice girl and she is a heroine I’d actually wanna be friends with, which never happens to me!

My absolute favorite thing about Dylan was he was not a clichéd bad boy! Hallelujah! I mean, I love my bad boys so much but it is so refreshing to finally have a good boy! He was a smart, driven, sweetie pie who I absolutely loved. He was so kind and attentive and hotttt. He made me swoooooonnnnn.

I liked Tess’s mom, even though I didn’t agree with some of the choices she makes. I know she made the decisions that she thought were best for her. I didn’t like Tess’s father though. Sleazeeee ball. Tess’s support system of great friends were pretty sweet but I wish I knew more about them. The biggest surprise of all was Hannah, her secret sister. Yeah, I thought she was a spoiled brat at the beginning but I can’t wait for her story!

This was definitely a unique storyline and I thought Viv executed it perfectly. The writing was great, just like Diana’s young adult book. The romance was really cute and sweet. I’m glad we got the backstory from when Tess and Dylan met. Their romantic moments were nice and swoony and oh-so-good. Just read it to see!

So when does Hannah’s story come out? Soon I hope! It’s got a bad boy in it and I am stoked!

Favorite Swoon-worthy Quote: He tasted like white wine and pine needles. He tasted like two years of waiting. I wanted to breathe for him, I wanted to swallow him whole. I ached with a sudden, pulsing need, an overwhelming desire I’d never felt before. His hands slipped to my waist, holding me firmly against him as I wrapped my arms around his neck. I needed him closer, closer.
