Cover Reveal (38): Four Years Later by Monica Murphy

Guilt. That is all I ever feel when I think about my mom. Now she's back in my life, always wanting something. Having her around makes it so easy for me to fall into those bad habits that get me into trouble. Skipping class, smoking weed, fooling around with girls that mean nothing to me...I'm messing up. The last thing I need is my sister on my case.

So I keep my mom's return a secret. But promising I'll get my grades back up on my own isn't enough. Fable makes me see a tutor. And Chelsea is the smartest girl I've ever met. She's definitely not my type but there's something about her that I'm drawn to. She's sweet, she's shy and she seems completely immune to my usual moves.

Chelsea has her own secrets and she's not talking. Like I have any room to judge. How can I get her to open up to me? And will I ever be able to convince her that what we have could be something real?

Release Day Launch: Unafraid by Melody Grace - Review + Giveaway!

"The first time I saw her, I knew this girl was wilder than any stallion I’d ever trained. She was headstrong, wounded, passionate and free. And I had to have her…"

Brittany Ray doesn’t care about her bad reputation. Growing up in a sleepy beach town with a junkie mom and a runaway dad, Brit’s learned the hard way that the people you love will only let you down. It’s no use hoping for love or happiness. Some dreams aren’t meant for girls like her.

Hunter Covington is one of those dreams.

Gorgeous, charming Hunter is damn near perfect—and it’s killing him. Son of Charleston royalty, he’s been trapped in a gilded cage since the day he was born. Now he’s breaking free. He’s quit law school to restore his grandpa’s old horse ranch, trying to soothe the demons in his soul. But Beachwood Bay is full of old ghosts, like the mysterious girl who spent an unforgettable night with him—and then slipped away before dawn. Brit.

Everything about her screams danger, but Hunter doesn’t care: he’s never felt a connection so deep. And try as she may, Brit can’t resist the desire consuming her —or the safety she finds in Hunter’s arms.

A reckless passion. An undeniable bond. Scarred by their pasts, Brit and Hunter fight to heal old wounds. But will dark secrets tear apart their new beginning? And when love is the biggest risk of all, can they find the courage to face the future unafraid?

Unafraid was another new adult win for me! It is a really refreshing storyline and I read it in one sitting. I dare ya not to like this one.

Brittany is such a strong girl. She was dealt a shit hand in life, her dad leaving their family and her mom loved booze more than Brittany. She has dreams, dreams she wants more than anything to accomplish    She’s extremely pessimistic and I really can’t blame her because of her upbringing, but I wish she didn’t have such a load on her shoulders. She expects the worst out of Hunter, just because of her past experience, and I love when he proves her wrong.

Hunter truly is a golden boy, just like Brit thinks. He is so dang considerate, sweet, and just perfect. And yet, he is messed up inside just like Brittany. But he doesn’t let it stop him from giving his all to her and showing her so much love. He’s headstrong, just like his counterpart and never gives up no matter how many times she tells him to go away.

I loved seeing Juliet and Emerson back in action. They are so cute together and Emerson loves his little sister and will beat up anyone that hurts his sister. Garrett is like a surrogate brother to Brittany as well and I really love his character.

The thing I loved about Unbroken, Juliet and Emerson’s book, and this book is that the couples have a past. Brit and Hunter have a complicated past, and I enjoyed having it unfolded in pieces. I love having deliciously tortured pasts. :) Hunter and Brit may have not seen each other in three years, but none of their feelings ever diminished. Their relationship develops fast, and they feel so strongly for each other. Their sexy times were beyond sexy and their sweet times were adorable.

I liked this installment even more than Unbroken and I can’t wait to see what Melody has up her sleeve for us!

Favorite Swoon-worthy Quote: It’s the kiss I’ve been waiting three long years to taste again, but it’s nothing like I imagined. Sweet and soft, hot and slow. My eyes drift shut with bliss as his mouth dances softly over mine. He’s barely touching me, but the shudder of pleasure that rolls through me is enough to make my heart stop and my legs buckle. Hunter wraps an arm around my waist, holding me up, and I sway into him, lost in the darkness.

Bad boy, meet bad girl.
Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn't like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance.

When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.

With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves.

The Collector was one of my most anticipated reads of 2013 and it was amazing (read review here.) Dante Walker is a sexy enigma and how I wish he was my man!

Dante had so much growth in this book it was astonishing. Yeah yeah he is still the same snarky guy who has the best inner monologue ever (“His tampon must be killing him.”) but he has changed so much. He’s a one-woman man now and forever and everything he does is for Charlie. He still may struggle for balance between his life as a collector and as a liberator, but I think he does a great job.

Charlie also changed a lot, and sometimes not for the best. But I knew the reasons behind her changes, so I could overlook them. She’s still the same sweet girl everyone loved from The Collector. I love her selfless self and her need to do good for everyone. She sees the good in Dante and makes him a better guy. Charlie has also grown stronger in this installment and she’s pretty kick-ass.

When I saw the synopsis for The Liberator, my heart fell. I thought, “Oh nooooo. A dreaded love triangle.” Butttt y’all have nothing to be worried about. Thank goodness. Aspen is really a great character. Rough around the edges like Dante, she has a great heart and it is so evident in the choices she makes. I love Annabelle, Grams, and Max just as much as I did in the last book. The secondary characters are just as amazing as the main ones, and I care equally about their storylines, which is irregular but so important for me in a book.

The plot starts out after the aftermath of book one and quickly accumulates into a perfect blend of action and down time. I absolutely adore being in Dante’s head. He is so hilarious but sweet at the same time. His thoughts about Charlie break my heart and then immediately repair it. They are precious. Their romance is brought to the next level and oh my, let me tell you, it was smokin’! Definitely one of the hottest YA books I’ve ever read.

I think I know the title of book 3 and I know it’ll be an intense conclusion. So many questions and too long of a wait! If you haven’t read The Collector yet, what are you waiting for????? POW!

Favorite Swoon-worthy Quote: Her lips move against mine, hesitantly at first, then with hunger. My heart hammers when I grasp that she’s not going to pull away this time. I place both hands around her waist and pull her closer. I lose myself in the taste of her lips. Her hair spills over her shoulder, and I breathe in the sweet blossom smell as I trail kisses down her neck. Charlie circles her arms around my neck and leans into me as a fire builds in the pit of my stomach. I feel her fingers digging into my back, and a low moan escapes my mouth as she brushes her hands over my chest, my hips, and just below the waistband of my jeans.
