But Daren isn't who he seems to be . . .Struggling to make amends for his family's mistakes, Daren has a life more Oliver Twist than Richie Rich these days. The Archers of Avalon is one of my favorite YA series and
it’s totally underrated. I love her NA books equally as much!
Kayla had a rough childhood, being torn from her dad and
thinking she wasn’t good enough her whole life. Her mother was terrible but she persevered. I liked her a lot. She was strong but vulnerable and really sweet. Her inner monologue was so hilarious and I was cracking up the whole time.
Daren – such a great guy. He acted like this manwhore who
didn’t care about anything going on but it was just the opposite. He was really
caring even though he had a tough time growing up just like Kayla. He was also super hot. :)
The plot was just so funny and entertaining; being
handcuffed to another person for a scavenger hunt. I laughed the whole time but
there were also some really sentimental scenes and I found myself tearing up a
bit. I loved the distinct dual POV writing. The romance was cute. They were
clearly attracted to each other but they both had the wrong impression of each
other to being with. But it all ended up well.
Jenna’s book is next and she’s a firecracker so I can’t
wait!
Favorite Swoon-worthy Quote: Instantly he crushes his lips against mine, more fully than
before, and I eagerly kiss him back. He grips my jaw, not roughly but not
gently either, as he runs his tongue down the seam of my lips and I open for
him, softly moaning as his tongue slips inside my mouth and rolls over my own.
Our mouths meet in a hungry collision, kissing and pulling and licking at each
other.
