Blog Tour: Perfect Kind of Trouble by Chelsea Fine - Review + Giveaway!

Sometimes when perfect falls apart, a little trouble fixes everything . . .

Twenty-one-year-old Kayla Turner has lost everything. After spending most of her life taking care of her ailing mother, she just wants to spot a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. So when her late father-a man she barely knew-leaves her an inheritance, she finally breathes a sigh of relief . . . until she learns the inheritance comes with strings. Strings in the form of handsome playboy Daren Ackwood, her father's protégé. To see any of her inheritance, she's forced to team up with him. From his expensive car to those sexy dimples, Kayla's seen his type before. But Daren isn't who he seems to be . . .

Struggling to make amends for his family's mistakes, Daren has a life more Oliver Twist than Richie Rich these days. He's beyond grateful that James Turner included him in his will, but working with Turner's princess of a daughter to fulfill his cryptic last wish is making Daren wonder if being broke is really so bad. Still, she's just as beautiful as she is stubborn, and the more time he spends with Kayla, the less it feels right being without her. Soon Daren and Kayla begin to wonder if maybe the best gift Kayla's dad could have left them . . . was each other.

The Archers of Avalon is one of my favorite YA series and it’s totally underrated. I love her NA books equally as much!

Kayla had a rough childhood, being torn from her dad and thinking she wasn’t good enough her whole life. Her mother was terrible but she persevered. I liked her a lot. She was strong but vulnerable and really sweet. Her inner monologue was so hilarious and I was cracking up the whole time.

Daren – such a great guy. He acted like this manwhore who didn’t care about anything going on but it was just the opposite. He was really caring even though he had a tough time growing up just like Kayla. He was also super hot. :)

The plot was just so funny and entertaining; being handcuffed to another person for a scavenger hunt. I laughed the whole time but there were also some really sentimental scenes and I found myself tearing up a bit. I loved the distinct dual POV writing. The romance was cute. They were clearly attracted to each other but they both had the wrong impression of each other to being with. But it all ended up well.

Jenna’s book is next and she’s a firecracker so I can’t wait!

Favorite Swoon-worthy Quote: Instantly he crushes his lips against mine, more fully than before, and I eagerly kiss him back. He grips my jaw, not roughly but not gently either, as he runs his tongue down the seam of my lips and I open for him, softly moaning as his tongue slips inside my mouth and rolls over my own. Our mouths meet in a hungry collision, kissing and pulling and licking at each other.

Blog Tour: Better When He's Bad by Jay Crownover - Review + Giveaway!

Welcome to the Point

There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter.

Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way.

Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced.

Bax terrifies her, but it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize that some boys are just better when they’re bad.

Since I am such a big fan of Jay’s Marked Men series, I knew I had to start her new series. And I am so glad that I did!

I certainly did not expect Dovie as she was. I thought she was going to be timid and shy but I couldn’t have been more wrong. She was feisty and tough and badass in her own way. I loved the way that she was so determined to help Bax in their journey, no matter how dangerous it could be. She was accepting and the absolute perfect match for Bax.

Shane “Bax” was the baddest bad boy I’ve ever read about. He is a criminal and a thief and he’s entirely unapologetic about that. But he is also sweet, adorable, and so cute. I loved both sides of him. He was also protective and would do anything to make sure Dovie was safe. In essence, he was the ultimate alpha male.

The plot was exciting. I’ve never read about a hardened criminal such as Bax and I thought the whole criminal network thing was really cool. The same writing magic I fell in love with in Jay’s Marked Men series continued to this book and I was hooked. Dovie and Bax had explosive chemistry combined with some really sweet scenes.

I can’t wait until Race’s book, Dovie’s brother. He seems shady to me but I’m sure he’s going to be equally amazing.

Favorite Swoon-worthy Quote: This time when he kissed me, it was for real. His lips moved across mine with force, but not in a way that was punishing. When he demanded entrance this time, I let him have it, and even went as fast as to wrap my arms around the strong cords of his neck. His tongue danced with mine, his teeth scraped with the intent to arouse not to punish...
