Desperate to keep him...

I've finally gotten everything I ever wanted: love, freedom, happiness, and, most importantly, Finn. Our love is everything I expected it to be and more. We've finally found each other, but the world seems determined to tear us apart. We thought my father was the only obstacle between us, but now it's the military. With Finn’s departure looming, we’re squeezing in every moment together before we run out of time.

Trying to make every moment count…

Being Carrie’s bodyguard was one thing. Being her boyfriend is another. Every day she’s mine is a day the sun shines in my life. Yet our time together is running out. Her father will never think a tattooed Marine will be good enough, so I’ll do whatever it takes to be worthy of her love. But the road will take me away from the girl who makes me feel alive--the girl I can't live without.

Time only gets us so far...

This book was received from Inkslinger PR in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely adore this series. The heroine doesn’t annoy me and the guy is beyond hot. Win – win!

Carrie is still a mostly strong heroine. I love that she is insanely sweet but also sassy. She could be naïve at times but that didn’t take away from my liking of her. She needed at times to be stronger to her parents but hopefully she will be next book. I do really like her though.

Finn is still as alpha and as hot as ever. He was slightly annoying when he was going on about the differences between them socially and class-wise, but I did understand his concern. But I knew Carrie didn’t care about their differences, and he made a big deal out of it, I felt. But at least he apologized. :)

It’s really hard for me to get a handle on Carrie’s parents. I get why her dad is so protective of her but I hate how he treats Finn. Her mother was annoying because she was basically arranging a marriage for Carrie. I absolutely hate those. I liked hearing more about her roommate, Marie, in this installment. I like her.

I liked the turn this book took after its predecessor. This book is also beyond hot! The sex scenes are some of the hottest in NA now and I absolutely love it. Like my goodness. It’s probably because Jen also writes adult. She’s a pro!

Jen seems to be a fan of cliffhangers so I am dying for book 3!

Favorite Swoon-worthy Quote: I climbed off the bed and rose on tiptoes, kissing him. His tongue rubbed against mine, making my stomach clench. When I slid my hands down over his pecs and abs and then up under his shirt, he groaned into my mouth. My nails scraped his skin, and I pulled back long enough to pull his shirt over his head.
I stood back and looked at him, his gaze burning into mine as I did so. His dark ink swirled up his arms and over his biceps before it crept over his shoulders and chest. I never got sick of looking at his tattoos. I loved deciphering them and admiring how they intertwined with perfection.
