Top Ten Tuesday (23): Top
Ten Books When You Need Something Light & Fun
Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created and
hosted by The Broke and
the Bookish. For more information and a list of past
and future topics, go here.
1.
Anna and the French Kiss by: Stephanie Perkins –
I mean of course this will always be my number one light and fun read. Anytime
I am having a slightly bad day, this always has the ability to make me happy.
2.
Lola and the Boy Next Door by: Stephanie Perkins
– This is definitely a close runner up. I love Cricket so much.
3.
Wallbanger by: Alice Clayton – I very recently
read this, and if you’re into new adult at all, I totally recommend it. I was
laughing my ass off the whole time.
4.
The Summer I Became a Nerd by: Leah Rae Miller –
I was immensely lucky to get an ARC of this because it had been on my TBR list
for for-freakin’-ever. It is a wonderful summer read, which coincidently comes
out today. Get a copy!
5.
The Collector by: Victoria Scott – Dante is
perfect for a rainy day. He is snarky and hilarious but also sweet and
adorable.
6.
Losing It by: Cora Carmack – I was absolutely
hooked from the very beginning. Bliss is one of the funniest characters I ever
had the pleasure of reading about. Who makes up a cat to get out of a
rather sticky situation? Bliss does. And plus Garrick is sexy as mess. :)
7.
Reasons I Fell for the Funny Fat Friend by: Becca Ann – I was blown away by how much I loved this book. It definitely is
easy and entertaining read.
8.
My Life Next Door by: Huntley Fitzpatrick – This
was a fabulous debut, and as it takes place in the summer, it’s a perfect light
read. I’ll read whatever else this amazing lady writes.
9.
Hex Hall series by: Rachel Hawkins – This is the
only paranormal series that’s on this list because for me, it’s the lightest
one out there for the most part. I love the heroine and her sarcasticness.
10. Any Sarah Dessen book – Granted I haven’t read the ones dealing with the really
nitty gritty issues, but the ones that I’ve read are amazing to read on the
beach on a beautiful summers day.
What are your favorite light and fun reads? Comment and let me know!
OH my gosh, I've been wanting to read Wallbanger and Losing It for weeks now!! I have to read this!! So glad to hear you loved them! :) Great list, Annie!
ReplyDeleteCRICKET! He's one of my favorite book boys of all time! Any Stephanie Perkins book should be on a 'must read fun books' list IMHO. :)
ReplyDeleteI think this topic was really hard for me- I need to read lighter things!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I'd like to read The Summer I Became A Nerd.
ReplyDeleteWe have a couple of the same books on our lists (yay!) but you have quite a few I've never heard of as well! I'm making a note of those because they sound awesome... how have I never heard of them! :)

Sarah Dessen Is on my TBR list I guess I will have to try some of her books. Jodie @ Aussie Bookworm
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I forgot My Life Next Door! It's perfect for this list. I read the first couple chapters of Wallbanger on my e-reader and I remember laughing quite a bit. Anna is on my TTT, too!
ReplyDeleteonline kasino Reading this post reminds me of my old room mate! He always kept talking about this. I will forward this article to him. Pretty sure he will have a good read. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYay for Stephanie Perkins! I loved Anna and the French Kiss (it's on my TTT, too) -so romantic and sweet! I haven't read Lola and the Boy Next Door yet...I guess I'll wait for the new covers and then line them up at some kind of special place in my room for everyone to see :D
ReplyDeleteGood choice on The Collector! I didn't think of it when I was making my list, but Dante can definitely lift a girl's spirits.
ReplyDeleteRuby's Reads
Oh my gosh, how could I have forgotten to include Anna and the French Kiss!? That's a such a fun book. I just checked out Losing it from the library yesterday, and I'm excited to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI included Anna and The French Kiss on my list as well. And I have to agree with you about Sarah Dessen, her books really are light and fun to read but usually also have a some type of deeper meaning.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I couldn't even come up with 10 light hearted books to make this list since I read so many depressing stories. Anna and the French Kiss has to be one of my favourite reads and I have Lola and the Boy Next Door on my shelf waiting to be read. I couldn't resist reading up on Wallbanger, that cover and name were too much, after reading some hilarious reviews I can't stop myself from buying it. I just finished one of Sarah Dessen's books and though there were some sad moments in it it was definitely a lovely, light summery read.
ReplyDeleteOh Anna and Lola! I love those books! :) I really want to read The Summer I Became a Nerd and My Life Next Door- they look like perfect "pick me up" reads.
ReplyDeleteExcellent choices! I haven't read Wallbanger or The Collector and am heading over to GR to add them right now. No seriously, they sound awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great Tuesday.
Woo! We have a lot in common! I also put Anna, Hex Hall, The Collector, and Losing It on my list!! I've never read a Sarah Dessen book, but now I just might! My Life Next Door and Lola have been on my TBR for awhile now! Must get to them soon!
