Top 10 of 2012 Day 4: Top 10 Book Boyfriends of 2012!

1.     Jace Wayland/Herondale/Lightwood, Mortal Instruments series: My Jace. I was under your spell ever since the first scene in the Pandemonium Club. He is such a bad boy, and while he can be stupid, he is always thinking of his overwhelming love for Clary.

“I always figured a demon would kill me,” he said. “A rogue Downworlder. A battle. But I realized then that I just might die if I didn’t get to kiss you, and soon.”

Clary licked her dry lips. “Well, you did,” she said. “Kiss me, I mean.”

He reached up and took a curl of her hair between his fingers. He was close enough that she could feel the warmth of his body, smell his soap and skin and hair.

“Not enough,” he said, letting her hair slip through his fingers. “If I kiss you all day every day for the rest of my life, it won’t be enough.”

2.     Daemon Black, Lux series: While I wanted to stab Daemon during most of Obsidian just like Katy, there were reasons for him keeping the world at an arms length. He transformed into the worlds biggest sweetheart, and I love him with all my heart. But don’t worry, he still has his I-want-to-punch-him-in-the-face moments.

      “I love you, Katy. Always have. Always will.”

3.     Adrian Ivashkov, Bloodlines series: Poor, poor Adrian. After having his fragile heart broken by Rose in the Vampire Academy series, Sydney swooped in and stitched it back up to its original flawlessness. Adrian is thoughtful and kind and would do anything for Sydney. Despite the constant drinking and smoking that might not be attractive, Adrian is pure perfection. I loved him in the Vampire Academy series, but now I absolutely adore him!!!!!

      “I said it on Halloween and meant every word: you are the most beautiful creature I have ever seen walking this earth. And you don’t even know it. You have no clue how beautiful you are or how brightly you shine.”

4.     Noah Hutchins, Pushing the Limits: Noah was a stoner, jerk, man-whore, and a slacker. But he is one of the sweetest boys I’ve ever read about. Echo completely transformed him and turned him into a perfect one-girl guy.

      “I gazed into her beautiful green eyes and her fear melted. A shy smile tugged at her lips and at my heart. Fuck me and the rest of the world, I was in love.”

5.     Tamani, Wings series: Tamani is so faithful and he only needed Laurel in his life to be happy. He would do absolutely anything to protect her. He is quiet and reserved in how he projects his feelings, but his love for Laurel consumes him and every action he takes.

“I've loved you for a long time, ' she said. 'But there was always something holding me back. Maybe it was that I was afraid of an emotion that was so consuming. It still frightens me,' she admitted in a whisper.

Tamani chuckled. 'If it makes you feel any better, it scares the daylights out of me on a regular basis.”

6.     Aiden St. Delphi, Covenant series: While I have a total well-established thing/love for bad boys, good boy Aiden stole my heart just as much. He has been through so much tragedy and faced many obstacles to make him the man he is today. The man who would do anything for Alex. His love for her takes my breath away. He totally deserves a happy ending.

      “I can’t keep pretending that I don’t want this – that I don’t want you. I can’t. Not after what happened to you. It thought… I thought I’d lost you, Alex, forever. And I would’ve lost everything. You are my everything.”

7.     Noah Shaw, Mara Dyer series: Arrogant, British, smart-ass Noah Shaw is completely amazing. Mara needed something stable in her life amidst the insaneness, and Noah has been her rock and will always be there for her.

      “You're the girl who called me an asshole the first time we spoke. The girl who tried to pay for lunch even after you learned I have more money than God. You're the girl who risked her ass to save a dying dog, who makes my chest ache whether you're wearing green silk or ripped jeans. You're the girl that I--" Noah stopped, then took a step closer to me. "You are my girl.”

8.     Tobias Eaton, Divergent series: Tobias is so dang sweet and is just one of those guys that basically everyone who breathes loves. He is a total bad-ass and can kill you easily, but he shows a gentle side with Tris. He does not baby her but gives her strength when needed.

      “We're all right, you know,' he says quietly. 'You and me. Okay?' My chest aches, and I nod. 'Nothing else is all right.' His whisper tickles my cheek. 'But we are.”

9.     Kaiden Rowe, Sweet Evil series: Again! British! Seriously, while he is one of the most irritating guys ever, he acts like that because he loves Anna. Like I wanna strangle him sometimes but he really knows what will keep Anna alive and safe from the bad demons.

“Wait,” Kaidan called from behind me. I squeezed my eyes shut for a second, but kept walking. Then I felt his hand around my wrist, spinning me in a half circle and pulling me to his chest. His face was so close. He reached down and cupped my face with one woolly hand, and wiped the top corner of my lip hard with his thumb. I flinched back.

“What are you doing?”

“I...” He appeared to have no idea himself. “I wanted to see your freckle.”

A vulnerable tenderness flashed across his face, more painful to see than the coldness. It took every ounce of strength I had not to beg for one last kiss. As fast as his expression had softened, it was back to stone again.

“What do you want from me, Kai?”

“For starters?” His voice lowered to sexy, dangerous depths. “I want to introduce myself to every freckle on your body.”

A powerful shiver ripped through me.”

10. Zachary, Shade series: I am such a sucker for guys with accents… Zachary is one of the most patient guys I have ever read about. Even though his feelings for Aura are so strong, he gives her the time and space she needs to get over Logan. He is pretty much flawless, and I know he loves Aura with all his heart.

       “Aye.” He turned his head to face me, but stayed on his back. “You look beautiful.” 
I glanced at my live shot in the corner. My features were as dim as his. “You can barely see me in the dark.”

“I don’t need to see you to know that you’re beautiful.”
